TPACK ACTIVITY
This activity culminated the reading- Introduction to TPACK. We looked at the three key components that make up the TPACK framework: Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge. We confirmed that the three areas cannot be taught as separate pieces as they are connected through learning. Each component is intertwined in each other as various degrees of assignments are given to students; some areas covered in Content Knowledge include: general science, language arts, literature ,music, biology, physics, drama and math.
Areas covered in Technology include: computers, magnifying glass, tinted page protector sheets, calculators, headphones, pencil grippers; Pedagogy includes knowing how to teach; focusing on the context when developing an approach to teaching.
In collaboration with each other, we were able to create a list for each of the three areas and we all concluded that the list was in no way exhausted. There were so many more examples that we did not capture in the activity. The exercise was a good way to revisit the reading and review the three components to get a deeper understanding of TAPCK and its intentions in the role of teaching and learning.
